oh i do luv your work, for me theres a beautifull textile element to this...greta stuff..i could see this in a fabric,"william morris of today"
Thank you for your comment. I am indeed,as well as many other things, influenced by early photography,in particular, photographs of my granny in my papa's photo box.The more I look at this work of yours the more I see.It too reminds me of a period in photography's history, the era of Walker Evans and the other FSA photographers. There seems to me to be elements of America's rural past here. The colours, shapes and textures are beautifully balanced ;relating to the urban shapes of skyscrapers, they also to me, throw up all sorts of connotations, such as(among many other things) field patterns, old pottery shards, patterns on old dresses and wallpaper, the lives and histories of the people living in the apartment blocks today .The elements are also of global appeal...there is a feeling of sunshine and optimism and turning of the seasons that can be accessed wherever you are and whatever culture you are exposed to.Apart from all that , as I said in a previous comment....visually I just love it!( it was my comment above that I deleted, I wanted to add a few things)
This is beautiful, the colours reminds me of the end of summer, a collection of fragments (of memories) that we store that evoke emotions when recalled.
I would just like to express to you how much I love your style. My eyes cannot help but scan every inch of your piece. To me there is something really allegorical and lyrical to your artwork.
Your work is very textural. I'm not quite sure why but your images make me think of the quilt exhibit "Gee's Bend."
This piece and the first one look like they could be presented together. Well, in fact they all could be presented together as a body of work. I would keep this going and see what happens. Maybe it will expand into other mediums and maybe even a 3-D piece?!? Very Nice!! - Jana
This really is a city of hope during these electric election days!
